David Randall Peters
David Peters is the Founder and Owner of Peters Tax Preparation & Consulting in Richmond, VA. He has over fifteen years of experience in financial services, including 3 years in the hedge fund industry and six years in the insurance industry. David was the first-ever Chief Financial Officer at - a position he held for over three years. He is a national CPE Instructor/Discussion Leader for the AICPA, Kaplan, and Surgent, and was a recipient of Surgent’s Outstanding Discussion Leader award for 2019. He regularly teaches courses in accounting, finance, insurance, and ethics throughout the United States. He is the advisor for Business & Industry topics for the SC Association of CPA’s and was a recipient of The American College’s 2019 NextGen Financial Services Professional Award. He holds four Masters degrees, including a Masters of Science in Taxation from the University of Illinois. He contributes regularly to various CPA publications, including NCACPA’s Interim Report, SCACPA’s CPA Report, and VSCPA’s Disclosures. He was also a co-author of the 2018, 2019, and 2020 versions of the Virginia CPA Ethics course – a required course for all CPA’s licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Christopher Hesse
Mr. Hesse is a principal in the National Tax Office of CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) focusing on domestic federal income tax issues. He has 40 years of tax experience in public accounting and more than 35 years of speaking and training experience. His career includes extensive writing and analysis services, instructing at numerous seminars and conferences throughout the country, and testifying before Congressional and legislative committees on tax policy matters. Mr. Hesse currently serves as the chair of the AICPA Tax Executive Committee. He is a former chair of the AICPA S corporation technical resource panel and former member of the AICPA Accounting Methods and Periods technical resource panel. He is also on the AICPA National Tax Conference planning committee, instructing breakout sessions on Section 199A and other developments from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Chris is an author and instructor of CLA’s Tax Advisors Update, an annual compilation of court cases, rulings and other authorities created by practitioners for practitioners. In addition, Mr. Hesse is an author and instructor of CLA’s Farm Tax Seminar, providing guidance on the unique accounting methods and planning opportunities available for agricultural producers.
Regina Brown
Regina Brown, CPA, has more than 25 years of experience providing tax planning and compliance services. Her specializations include real estate and international tax transactions as well as estate and trust planning and compliance. Regina is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA). She has served as a returning speaker for the California Society of CPAs and currently owns her own practice in Los Angeles, California.
Bethany Jones-Worner
Bethany is passionate about helping U.S. businesses stay competitive in today’s global economy. She has extensive experience in specialized Research and Development Tax Credit consulting, and has managed R&D Tax Credit studies for companies in a diverse range of industries including banking, software development and manufacturing. Bethany has helped generate millions in R&D tax refunds for dozens of clients at the state and federal level, including two top 20 national banks. She also has extensive experience helping her clients navigate through IRS and state taxing authority controversy, including the IRS fast track settlement program, the IRS CAP program and the IRS appeals process. Additionally, Bethany is an experienced sales, marketing and public relations professional. She has led presentations on the topic of the research credit, including a panel at the 58th annual Cleveland Tax Institute, and works with many business associations such as the Ohio Manufacturing Association to provide education about the R&D tax credit. Outside of TCG, she also serves a volunteer production coordinator for TEDxCLE. Bethany holds her bachelor’s from Kent State University.
Michael Krajcer
Mike Krajcer is the President of Tax Credits Group and has more than twenty five years of experience in Research Tax Credit consulting and related IRS/State tax controversy resolution. Previously, Mike was the leader of Ernst & Young’s IRS practice and procedure group in Cleveland and a member of E&Y’s national tax practice. During his tenure at E&Y, Mike conducted/managed/and resolved before the IRS some of the largest studies performed in the area. Mr. Krajcer also spent 13 years with the IRS, where he was responsible for federal income tax examinations and research tax credit audit positions of the Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the region. He was Vice President at National City Bank where he was responsible for managing the bank’s own research tax credit study, like-kind exchange program, cost segregation studies and other specialty projects. Following his career with NCB, Mr. Krajcer was the Managing Technical Director for a national tax advisory firm specializing in R&D Tax Credit Studies. Mike managed a team of professionals working on hundreds of credit studies, and personally resolved dozens of IRS and State audits of credit claims. And most recently, Mr. Krajcer was the founder and past President of Global Tax Consulting, LLC, where he was the firm’s expert in Research Tax Credit issues and studies. Mr. Krajcer is an attorney and a certified public accountant in the state of Ohio. He holds a B.B.A. degree in accounting from the Kent State University and a J.D. degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where he also instructs as an adjunct professor. He is also currently an adjunct professor at the Cleveland State University College of Business, instructing in the Master of Taxation Program. Mike is a frequent speaker on research credit topics at accounting shows and OSCPA events, and has published several articles on current issues relating to the credit. Mr. Krajcer is a current member of the Ohio Society of CPAs, the American Bar Association and the Tax Club of Cleveland.
