Back in March of 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provided two provisions to help taxpayers with the economic challenges that they were facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic - the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the employee retention credit (ERC).
